Gateway to Arabic Flashcards Set TwoThis pack of flashcards contains 64 double-sided cards in full colour on the topic of school and classroom vocabulary. It includes typical items found in the classroom such as an exercise book, pencil case, microscope, file etc. It also includes people associated with the school, for example: student, teacher, headmaster and so on, as well as key locations such as the classroom, playground, dining hall and library. (Card no. 38 front) On one side of the card is the colour illustration (Card no. 38 back) and on the reverse is the Arabic, English translation, as well as transliteration as a pronunciation guide. Where appropriate, the plural form of the noun is also given. (Card no. 54 back) A number of non-illustrated cards are included to provide additional vocabulary to stimulate classroom games and speaking practice, such as question and answer words. For example, Arabic expressions such as ‘What is this?’, ‘Who is this?’ ‘Is this a such-and-such?’ ‘What is in his or her hand?’ are taught, together with ‘yes’, ‘no’ and ‘Well done!’ responses, among others. Two of the cards contain suggestions for usage and advice on classroom games and activities.
