Both the participants and the match schedule of the tournament were revealed on Tuesday in New York, in an even where the Club was represented by former player Edgar Davids. It will be FC Barcelona’s first appearance in Dublin since 1963, when they took on Shelbourne at Dalymount Park in the Round of 32 of the European Cup Winners’ Cup where Barça won 2-0. While Barça have played in Sweden on plenty of occasions, they have never before appeared in Stockholm. FC Barcelona’s second appearance at the International Champions Cup Luis Enrique’s side took part in the same competition last season, playing a total of four matches. First, they took on Los Angeles Galaxy at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, followed by Manchester United at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California; as well as Chelsea at the FedExField, in Washington DC. After three matches on American soil, Barça travelled to Italy to face Fiorentina at the Artemio Franchi in Florence. In good company The competition which will take place from 23 July to 13 August, will see a host of big names from around the continent. A total of ten European sides will feature, including Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain, Real Madrid, AC Milan, Chelsea and Inter Milan.
