This is the eleventh session of an eighteen-lesson course for absolute beginners wishing to learn Arabic. In this lesson, you will be introduced to the sukoon symbol that indicates when an Arabic letter carries no vowel, working from page 55 of the book. A brief overview of the hamza (glottal stop) is also given, though this will be covered in more detail in lesson thirteen. In addition, you will learn to ask questions beginning with the interrogatives ‘man’ (who?) and ‘hal’ (is/are/does/ do…?), together with the singular personal pronouns (I, you masculine, you feminine, he, she) and the demonstrative pronoun ‘this’ in its masculine and feminine singular forms (haadhaa, haadhihi). The course as a whole is based on the book 'Arabic from the Beginning: Part One' by Dr. Imran Hamza Alawiye, which is available from the publisher's website: www.gatewaytoarabic.com. The course teaches everything you need to know to read and write the Arabic script, as well as useful Arabic phrases.
