
Verbs: Number and Gender The normal sentence order in Arabic is for the verb to come first, followed by the subject of the verb and then the rest of the sentence. When a third person verb begins a sentence, it will always appear in the singular form, even if the subject governing the verb is in the dual or plural. However, the verb must always agree in gender.
